Electronic Poker is a beloved game that is able to be gambled on in casinos all over the world, or alternatively at home on your computer, using a web account. The regulations are absolutely simple and consist of the player trying to get the best combination of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it is very similar as a normal game of poker, without the interaction with other players. Of course, tactics used in a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless here.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.

The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and enthusiasts will need to now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.

After the gambler has decided on which cards she would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be needed they will be handed out. The round is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.

Generally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that experienced gamblers are agile enough to choose the most profitable machine every time.

Once the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that has been won. Further, several styles of the game give the player an opportunity to double their winnings, in which instance a further game is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
