Electronic-Poker is often a casino game of talent – and using the straightforward combination of betting strategy and mathematical know-how, is usually beat. Take note of the "pay schedule" shown on the front of every machine, and look particularly at the most important information – how much the machine will pay for a Full-House vs . a Flush.

An sophisticated video-poker gambler will also realise that a "Jacks-or-Better" device – classed as a 9/6 machine for paying out 9 coins: 1 for just about every Full House and six: one for just about every Flush, could be beaten using ideal Basic Video-Poker Technique. An additional device offering the sophisticated electronic-poker gambler an edge is the 10/6 Deuces Wild machine. These odds have been confirmed as a result of computer modelling. For the other machines – even if a player plays the Perfect Video-Poker Method casino game, he will still not win, though will have fun wagering!

There are set rules defining Basic Electronic-Poker Technique regardless of whether playing online or in a casino – much like the Basic Technique for Blackjack,

Jacks-or-Better Video-Poker Method

  • In any hand with a Jack, unless the hand is already a winner! – four to an open-ended Straight, 4 with a Flush or 3 to a Straight Flush or Royal Flush – reject all cards only keeping the Jack
  • In any hand with only one card Jack or better, hold the individual great card and reject all other cards and redraw.
  • In any hand with 1 pair lower than Jacks, preserve the pair and refuse all other cards – unless of course the hand is four into a Straight or 4 to a Flush
  • In any hand having a 2-pair, hold both pair and refuse the odd-card.
  • In any hand holding three-of-a-kind preserve the three-of-a-kind and reject the other two cards.
  • In any hand with 4 to a Straight, retain all four Straight cards and re-draw – unless the Straight draw is not open-ended and the hand is with a Jack)
  • In any hand holding 4 to some Flush, maintain the 4 Flush – unless of course the hand holds 3 to the Royal in which case you would draw to the Royal Flush
  • In any hand with 4-of-a-kind, hold anything since a one-card draw will not enhance the cards.
  • In any hand having three with a Royal Flush, reject anything else and go for that Royal – unless of course the hand is already a Sraight Flush!

Practice these methods whist betting – perhaps even use to refer to the Basic Video Poker methods until they become second nature. Go on …have the ability and hit those machines!
