Electronic Poker is a favored game that usually will be played in casinos all over the world, or in your house on your PC, using an Internet connection. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the highest mixture of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, without the interaction with other players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A hand of five cards will be "given out" on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors should now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.
After the enthusiast has chosen which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards are dealt if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Typically, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable bettors are agile enough to select the most beneficial ones every instance.
After the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to stay on and try to to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Further, a few styles of the game give the gambler a chance to increase their wins, in which instance a further round is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
