Electronic Poker is a popular game that usually will be wagered on in casinos all over the globe, or alternatively at home on your PC, through a net account. The regulations are absolutely simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the best combination of cards achievable in order to win money. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker begins when the player inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A five card hand will be "handed out" on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and bettors should now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.
After the bettor has chosen which cards she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.
Typically, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that experienced bettors are agile enough to choose the most money-making game each instance.
After the first round has finished, the player can either decide to stay on and try to to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Additionally, a few styles of the game allow the player a chance to double their winnings, in which case another round is played. There are also variations between specific machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing elements to enhance playability.
