Video Poker is a popular game that is able to be gambled on in casinos across the world, or alternatively at your house on your PC, through a net account. The rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player trying to achieve the best mixture of cards as you can in order to come away with money. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the line of contact with competing players. Of course, techniques employed during a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors should now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it is all or none.

After the gambler has selected which cards he or she would like to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are handed out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.

Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable gamblers are agile enough to choose the most profitable machine each and every instance.

Once the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game allow the player a chance to double their profits, in which instance another round is played. There are also variations among specific machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
